In this set of videos, filmed outside on a sunny day in early June 2016, sisters Regilee Ootoova and Sarahme Akoomalik describe some of the different types of sealskins. Working with Sheila Katsak and Nancy Wachowich, they set out to demonstrate the steps undertaken to cure seal-hides of different types. They also explain the various tools a seamstress uses to process sealskins.
