Sisters start skinning a fresh sealskin
Mary Mucpa
Mary Mucpa is a retired kindergarten teacher, community educator and reknown seamstress. She worked with MAMC in 2017, illustrating the different ways in which to cut patterns from caribou skin. She also took part of a group discussion, with Sarahme Akoomalik and Regilee Ootova, on sewing traditions and terminology. These sessions were recorded by Sheila Katsak, Sarahme Akoomalik, Nancy Wachowich and Gro Ween.
